EasyNews Kodi add-on

EasyNews Video by Tetsuo is a Kodi video add-on that searches the EasyNews retention database and plays members-only streams. It supports saved newsgroups, search and play history, experimental VLC playback (superior to Kodi player with some Easynews streams), TMDB discovery, a local downloads folder browser, optional split-file lookup, and related tools.

Requirements: Kodi 19+ (Matrix). An active EasyNews membership.

Install via the EasyNews repository

Use this method to get automatic updates from Kodi when new versions are published.

1. Open Releases and download the latest repository.easynews-*.zip
2. In Kodi: Settings → System → Add-ons → Unknown sources → Enable
3. Then: Settings → Add-ons → Install from zip file → select that repository zip (the repo is now installed).
4. Then: Settings → Add-ons → Install from repository → EasyNews Repository → Video add-ons → EasyNews by Tetsuo → Install.
5. Return to the main Kodi menu screen, enter Add-ons and look for the funky EasyNews Add-on then go!
6. Configure your EasyNews username and password under the add-on’s settings as below. Enjoy!

After the repository is installed, Kodi can check for updates like any other add-on source (My add-ons → your repository → Update / Check for updates, depending on skin).

Install manually via Zipfile

Using this method WILL NOT get automatic updates when new versions are published. You’ll have to manually manage that if wish to update in the future.

1. Open Releases and download the latest Zip.
2. In Kodi: Settings → System → Add-ons → Unknown sources → Enable
3. Then: Settings → Add-ons → Install from zip file → select that add-on zip (the add-on is now installed).
4. Return to the main Kodi menu screen, enter Add-ons and look for the funky EasyNews Add-on then go!
5. Configure your EasyNews username and password under the add-on’s settings as below. Enjoy!

Configuration

• EasyNews account: Add-on settings → General → username and password.
• Optional: results per page, date sort, saved newsgroup limits, download folder path, TMDB key, tools for Kodi network timeouts, etc. (see in-add-on Read Me / Userguide).
